Cooking Classes at Chef Journeys

At Chef Journeys, we believe cooking should be a festive adventure, which is why we love hosting parties of 15 or more. Your culinary experience kicks off with a refreshing welcome fruit drink and a tantalizing amuse-bouche. After some mingling, we dive into the cooking class, which typically features three courses. You can choose from a local soup, salad, or appetizer to start.

For the main course, we offer a variety of styles and ingredients, including chicken, pork, beef, local fish species, and shellfish like shrimp and langostinos. Our langostinos, distinct with their clawless bodies and unique shells, are a highlight. We cap off the meal with a dessert of tropical fruits, especially bananas, served on ice cream and flambéed with our renowned Nicaraguan rum, Flor de Caña. After preparing each course, you’ll savor your creation and socialize before moving on to the next dish.

Our classes can extend up to five courses, but we find three to be the perfect balance to keep everyone engaged without wearing them out. Even if cooking isn’t your forte, you’re sure to enjoy the camaraderie and fun with your friends. Each class is tailored to your group’s preferences, and you’re welcome to bring your own wine and spirits—we provide the glassware and ice.

For our beloved Granada residents, we offer a global culinary journey with options like French, Italian, and Southeast Asian cuisines, depending on ingredient availability. Some specialty items may be harder to find and pricier, but we always strive to accommodate your wishes.

Every cooking class is customized to meet your party’s needs. To book your experience, email [email protected]. Classes start at $50 per person, which includes the session, a welcome cocktail, an amuse-bouche, and a copy of my cookbook, The New Nicaraguan Cuisine. We look forward to making your next gathering unforgettable. Visit chefjourneys.com to see more of what we offer.
