The Basics

What is Chef Journeys?

NY based food and recipe delivery service that offers a unique sense of gastro traveling. We deliver boxes with pre-portioned ingredients for you to cook impressive 3-course meals from different cuisines. Every box also contains an information card with trivia and fun facts about the chosen country.

What is this "Journey" you keep referring to?

A Journey is a full 3-course meal for 2 people consisting of 1 appetizer, 1 salad and 1 main course from a specific country. Think of it as a full Prix Fixe meal.

What is in the box?

Every Chef Journeys box contains two layers of ice, 3 brown bags with ingredients and 4 full color two-sided cards: 3 easy to follow recipe cards and 1 information card with trivia and fun facts about the chosen country.

Your box may also contain separately packaged promotional products and marketing materials from our sponsors or us. We would never provide you with a product or marketing material we do not endorse. That we promise.

Each recipe is accompanied with a video tutorial that can be viewed on the recipe page. Click on the button in the top right corner to see the whole video. Alternatively click on the Play button in the Cooking Instructions steps to start video from a specific timestamp.

How do I order?

You can order by first creating your account on the website and then follow the steps in this video.

Can I order dishes from several countries?

Sure. Just keep in mind that one Journey should contain dishes from the same country. You can order several Journeys at once and choose a different country for each Journey.


Delivery

Where do you deliver?

Currently, we deliver certain parts of Brooklyn and Staten Island, but we are constantly growing our network and will soon be serving all over the Globe. Here you can always check if we delivery to your area.

How can I receive my order?

We offer two shipping options - a delivery to your address or a pick-up at one of our locations. Both options are completely free of charge.

How much does the delivery cost?

Delivery is completely free.

When will I get my order? When can I pick it up?

On the payment page, you select a delivery date and your order will be delivered on that day. All orders are ready for pick up by 6pm or delivered to the provided shipping address by 7pm.

Can I receive my order today?

Absolutely! We do offer Same Day delivery. However, please note that to have the option of same day delivery your order has to be placed before 1 pm.

Do you deliver on weekends and holidays?

Yes, we deliver every day. Holidays and weekends are no exception.

How do I change my delivery address?

In case you need to change your delivery address, please contact our customer support.

Why do you need my ZIP code for registration?

We don't need your ZIP code for registration purposes, but we do need it to understand if we offer our services in your area. If your ZIP code is within our service area - great. If not, you can still use our service, but you'd have to use the Pick-Up option.

We constantly expand our service area and once we get to your area, we will notify you via email.

Something in my box is damaged or missing, what should I do?

Please contact customer support and let us know what happened. We will do our best to solve the problem as soon as possible.


Billing

When am I charged for my purchase?

Your card is charged as soon as you place an order. After you provide all the billing and shipping information and click the Place Your Order button the card gets charged.

After placing your order you get the receipt in an Order Confirmation email.


Other

I'm a vegetarian/vegan/have allergies. Do you have something for me?

We try to build our menus to accommodate a variety of dietary preferences - e.g. vegetarians, pescetarians and people with certain allergies. However, all countries usually have a certain popular ingredient that occurs in most of their traditional dishes and that popular ingredient may not suit your dietary habits. Therefore, if you couldn't find something you like or can eat in the menu of one country, try looking into menus of other countries.

Please note: all of our boxes are assembled in the same processing facility, so we don't recommend ordering from Chef Journeys if you have a serious food allergy.

Is there a limit to the number of Journeys per order?

We had to put a limit of maximum 6 Journeys per order. However, there is nothing stopping you from placing several orders. Therefore, if you think about it - there is no limit.

Do menus ever change?

The menus stay the same, however, every month we add a new country with a menu so you will not get bored.

Do old countries disappear? Can I still order from the menu i already know and like?

Old countries are never replaced nor do they disappear. You can always order from a menu of a previously added country as well as a new one.
